Description
The front part of Turner Hall was erected in 1870, at a cost of $1,800. This is a frame , 35' x 50'. In September 1873, the society bought the Methodist Church building and added it to their hall. The cost of this including rebuilding, fitting up, etc., was about $1,200. A stage was put in at this time. Seen in this photo is the addition to the far right added in 1873. Note the kerosene lamp post and the high rising lightening rods. The location of this building was on the northeast corner of north Main Street and Watson Street.
