World War I Gas Mask in Haversack
Description
This gas mask in a canvas haversack was used in combat during World War I by Private Thomas S Donagy who served in the 82nd Division, 325 Infantry, Company F. He left from Camp Dodge in April 1918 and went to Camp Upton, New York. From there he went to England and France. He returned to the United States in May 1919 to Camp Upton, New York and then went back to Camp Dodge in Iowa, The breeches were given in memory of Pvt. Thomas S. Donaghy by his sister, Ruth A Donaghy in August 1994.
