Day and evening dresses

Day and evening dresses all with full, hoop skirts. The first woman is wearing a burnoose over her dress. The second has a dagged, shoulder cape over her long sleeved, fitted bodice; a long sash tied around her waist with a bow in back; a layered skirt with a dagged, tassel trimmed top layer; and a lace cap. The center woman has a layered bodice with a jewel neckline, cap oversleeves with tassels; long, ruffle cuffed sleeves; and a belted waist with basques. The third woman has an evening dress with a wide, low neckline trimmed with ruffles, short sleeves, a ribbon sash tied around her waist, and ruffles around the bottom of her skirt. The fifth woman has a fur trimmed dress with a fitted basque bodice, jewel neckline, long sleeves, center front buttons, a fur muff and matching cloak or mantle. The child is weaning an outfit with a small collar, long sleeves, belted waist, and a skirt. (published for Godey's Fashions by Kimmel & Co.)
