Commission of Cyrus Bussey (Bloomfield, Iowa) as Brigadier General of U.S. Volunteers, signed by Abraham Lincoln and Secretary of War Edwin M. Stanton. April 10, 1864. Bussey had served as Chief of Cavalry for Gen. Ulysses S. Grant's army during the Siege of Vicksburg.
