Description
Corkhill was a Methodist minister, instrumental in the founding of Iowa Wesleyan College and the reformatories in Mitchellville and Eldora, Iowa. Governor Samuel Kirkwood commissioned this account of Corkhill's experiences as a chaplain for the 25th Iowa Infantry in the Civil War; also included are clippings, poems, and invitations from before and after the war.
