score 84-84. Otting then came through with his game win-
ning shot and Fennelly dropped in a free throw to wind
up the scoring. Fennelly and Brennan led the Bees with 23
and 22 points respectively, but the scoring honors went to
Dan Rogovich of St. Joe's with 29 points.
Seeking their fifth consecutive victory, the Bees took a
long train ride to Denver, Colorado, to face the Rangers
from Regis in a double header at the Denver Auditorium.
The Bees managed to hold the Rangers to a 38-36 halftime
score but the hosts, led by Dennis Boone's 20 points, ex-
ploded in the second half to go on to win 87-63. The Bees
couldn't hit the hoop in the final frame and sank only one
bucket in the first seven minutes of the final stanza. Otting
and Fennelly shared scoring honors for the Blue and White
with 17 points apiece.
Western Illinois downed the Bees for the second time,
77-63, and racked up their 13th consecutive win of the sea-
son when the Ambrosians traveled to Macomb. Chuck Be-
hrends did a repeat performance and led both teams in
scoring, this time hitting for 23 points. The Leathernecks,
leading 33-32 at halftime, broke the game open in the sec-
ond half with a 12 point scoring spree. Captain Tom Ot-
ting sat this game out for the Locust Street cagers with a
case of the flu. Fennelly put 21 points through the hoop
and Walker and freshman Don Lumsden each added 12
points.
Quincy College, with eight of its regulars at home, re-
turned to Quincy winless as the Bees defeated them, 73-57
in a game played at Wharton Fieldhouse.
On January 21st the Bees were scheduled to travel to
Dubuque for a game with Loras but a couple of feet of
snow necessitated cancellation of the game.
Kevin Fennelly displays the driving style that haunted
many opponents during the 1957-58 season.
Tom Otting hooks over the head of Loras' Jack Frasco
for two more counters.
. . . must come down!
