Description
Athlete of the Year
Athlete of the Year, always a coveted honor, took
on even more than its usual
prestige this year, since there
were so many deserving candidates. In selecting Jim Fay,
the student body demonstrated that it recognized in
Jim more than just a fine
basketball player.
Jim has been a regular
since his freshman year. As
a freshman he was the third
ranking rebounder among
the nation's small college
players. He has been an All-
Conference selection in two
conferences, the Iowa and the
Midlands. He has also been
named on the All-Catholic
Midwest team. Four year leader in team rebounding, he also
holds the school record for points scored in a single game, 43,
and for a whole career, 1605. In short, this honor comes as
the climax to a brilliant four year performance for St. Ambrose.
It would not be surprising if, of all his awards, Jim would be
most proud of this one, coming as it does from those who know
him best
Intramural Basketball Champs
Tiny Tots whoop it up over their intramural basketball championship — the second consecutive
one for them. Left to right, front row, are Jack (Hiles) Winne, Don Tetlow, Jerry (Young
Gola) Waters, Don Dillon, and Gary Riemersma, Back row, same order, are John Eden, Skip
Ivers, Pete Meegan, and Bill Magee,
