Description

Happy Ambrosians do some post-game celebrating. Lucky that truck was pretty well fastened
down, because anything went that day.
St. Ambrose 47
Iowa Weslyan 7
St. Ambrose saved the best till last, as they
demolished Iowa Wesleyan, 47-7. This win gave
the Bees a final mark of 4-4, a creditable showing
in the face of strong opposition.
Everyone got into the scoring act. Mitch Ware
brought his career to a close with three touchdowns, while Al Genesheimer, Gene Walton, Bob
Durnin and Ken Floerke each contributed one,
Floerke's coming on the end of an 80 yard pass
play from Jack Abbott.
In reviewing the season briefly it should be
said that the 4-4 record does not tell the whole
story. The Bees, predominantly a young team,
seemed to "jell" about mid-season, and played
their best ball at the end of the schedule, which
was the tougher part. Next year and the years
to come should see the Ambrosians profit greatly
from the experience gained this year, and prove
the wisdom of the athletic department in scheduling the strong opposition which they have.
End of the road for Jackson of Wm. Jewell, as Ware moves in to assist unidentified tackier.
