Description
Florence Kennedy, better known as "Flo", a 62-
year-old black feminist,
author, activist, and lecturer , spent the day on St.
Ambrose campus on Thur.
Feb. 7 and spoke in Al-
leart Hall that evening.
Through her forceful,
yet casual style she introduced many challenging
ideas for both country and
campus.
A major theme of her
talk was, "Wev'e got to
get our act together." And
some of the areas she discussed included politics,
racism, sexism, and the
place of prostitutes in our
socity. She emphasized
the fact that we as individuals do have the power to
improve American government and lifestyle. She
also suggested "We in the
Christian campus need to
re-examine our commitment to morality." She
concluded with "I want you
to address yourselves to
making this world a better
place ... You just say
'Ready or not here we
come!'" Flo was sponsored by the Black Student
Union and the S. G. A.
