Description
Queen Terry Hobson, Marycrest sophomore, reigned over the Homecoming
dance. Last minute adjustment of her robe was cared for by an Ambrosian
as the parade was ready to leave the Campus for the Davenport business area.
Homecoming
Ralph Marterie and his orchestra
provided the music for the annual
St. Ambrose College Homecoming
dance Friday 18 October at the Coliseum. Highlights of the dance was
the crowning of Queen Terry Hob-
son by the 1963 queen, Karen
Osweiler.
Queen Terry reigned over the
coordinated activities of St. Ambrose
and Marycrest. Saturday activities
included an open house for department displays, a parade through
downtown Davenport, a picnic under
the oaks on Locust Street. The
parade consisted of five floats, the
Queen and her Court plus several
Ambrose Clubs and organizations
with their banners.
The Alumni events were concentrated on the Campus. The social
hour began at 7:30 p.m., was followed by reunion dinners and a
dance in the Beehive from 9 p.m. to
1 a.m. For those who wished a bit
of theatre "Caine Mutiny Court
Martiar was on in Theatre III. The
business meeting followed the
Awards luncheon on Sunday.
Students and alumni agreed that
Homecoming. 1963 was a weekend
to be remembered.
Bonnie Nolan, Bev Guenther, Rosemary Friedholt made up the Queens court. The parade was making its way up
Third Street.
