BIG BROTHERS CLUB
Little Friends and Big Brothers
Paul Lawlor watches as the boys — big and little — ready themselves for the Homecoming
Parade. The children from St. Vincent's are special friends.
The Big Brothers Club was organized in the late part of the winter of 1961, by a few members of the
Chicago Club, who visited St. Vincent's Home in order to entertain
the children there and to give the
boys someone to look to in times of
need. Any Ambrosian may join this
club, the purpose of which is still to
render service to the children at St.
Vincent's and now to any other
needy group, upon request and subject to availability of members. The
group visits the Home two days a
week for two hours a day, and they
coach the St. Vincent's Track Team.
The club held a Halloween Party for
the boys on October 31, they
marched in the Homecoming Parade
on October 19, and they helped in
the production of a horse show at
St. Vincent's for the public. In connection with the Big Sisters Club, a
picnic was held in the spring.
