Description

Ambrosian News
Voice of S.A.C. Students
Complete coverage of fast moving
campus news happenings, bright
features, and attractive layout,
coupled with a meaningful, objective editorial policy—aimed at
making students think, have been the
key notes of the 1963-1964 Ambrosian News.
Staff members this year, under the
leadership of Mr. Rabby adviser,
and editor-in-chief Ken Wolf, have
published what was thought by
many to be one of the most informative, thought provoking papers
in Ambrose history.
For the third year in a row, the
Ambrosian News was submitted for
judging to, the critical rating service
of the Associated Collegiate Press,
a college and university newspaper
service sponsored by the School of
Journalism at the University of Minnesota. Last year the News received
an Ail-American rating, the highest
offered by the association.
Cherishing the right, granted to it
by the administration, to be an unfettered organ of student thought
and opinion on the St. Ambrose
campus, the Ambrosian News, during the 1963-1964 academic year, has
attempted to exercise this right responsibly, providing a full hearing
to all student and faculty views on
controversial issues while at the same
time utilizing balanced news and
feature coverage to inform the college family of campus events.
Mr. John Rabby and Ken Wolf discuss editorial policy and the 1963 All American
rating received by the News.
Controversial NSA articles were in preparation by the editorial staff: Ken Wolf, Mike Kinney, Pete Shovlin, George Greene and
Dan McGuiness.
