Description

Alumni Gather Many Times In Many Localities Ambrose Alumni gather many times and in many different places each year. Homecoming is, without a doubt, the largest annual gathering and for the first time, in 1963, the entire Homecoming program was on the Campus. An estimated five hundred alumni returned to renew old friendships and to see the many improvements that have taken place on the campus since they were students. A large number of the California alumni met with Father Madsen, Student Chaplain, during the summer while he was on the west coast. Gatherings were held in San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego. Up-to-date colored slides of the college were shown at each. The Chicago alumni held another party in December at the Stock Yard Inn following the Ambrose- Ill. Tech basketball game. The "Bees" won, and in spite of the ten below zero temperature, there were a number of alumni and their wives or girl friends in attendance. The alumni are very loyal and whenever they can, they enjoy meeting with their former teachers, classmates and acquaintances and attending the college functions. The alumni are what make up the largest part of the St. Ambrose Family. CHICAGO Alumni: Mr. & Mrs. R. Pay- ton, Irv Cosby, Joe O'Malley. Class of 1953 Reunion Dinner. Social Hour in the College Center. Chester Gemskie, Don Dwyer, Jerry Gralla, Frank Kross, Leo Kilfoy, also Chicago. Mr. & Mrs. Matt Hart and students at picnic under the Oakes—Homecoming. The Alumni Homecoming Dance. 26
