Library Expands The library facilities expansion was and continues to be a great step these years. The installment of second tier stacks, and the erection of a balcony to add space for bound volumes in the reference room, has doubled the storage capacity on second floor. The lower floor periodical, reserve book, and browsing room, adds greatly to the ease and comfort of study. Library hours have been extended to accommodate Ambrosian reference needs. The library has circulation figures amounting to approximately 22,000 a year, and its volume is increased yearly by about 4,000 books. Students are also provided with 417 current periodicals and eight national and international newspapers to which the library subscribes. MISS NANCY J. DUGAN, B.A, Reference Librarian. B.A., Clarke College. At St. Ambrose College, 1963-. Counselors Represent College The function of the Admissions Office is to bring information about St. Ambrose to the College-bound student. This is done by mail and personal contact. The staff consists of three Admissions Counselors, who cover most of the mid-western states plus the greater New York area. Mr. Gemskie is the full time representative in the Chicago area. During the past school year this office sent out approximately 20,000 pieces of mail to all parts of the United States and many foreign countries. Three visited by hundred schools were visited by members of this office during this past school year. The states included: Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Minnesota, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. MR. CLARENCE J. KRIESA, B.Ed, Coordinator of Admissions.
