ALUMNI NOTES
The marriage of Mr. William Vorwick and Miss Elinor Ann Koetter took place
last October at Seattle, Washington. Mr. and Mrs. Vorwick are now living at
Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mr. Vorwick was one of our leading athletes a few years
ago and he and his bride have our best congratulations.
Rev. Joseph Kenny celebrated his first Holy Mass last June at St. Francis de Sales
Church, Keokuk, Iowa. At present Father Kenny is stationed at St. John's Church,
Cambridge, Nebraska.
Ed, "Tinker," Wier is a salesman in one of the Hickey Bros. Cigar Stores in this
city. He does much to increase the popularity of the establishment.
Dr. Frank Hohenschuh, an Academic graduate of 1890, enjoys a very extensive medical practice at Clinton, where he has been located for a number of years.
Andrew T. Dehner of Burlington devotes his time to the business of the Dehner
Cigar Company of that city.
Rev. David A. Murphy, a Collegiate graduate of 1917, paid St. Ambrose a visit
recently. Father Murphy is at St. Mary's Church, Sterling, Illinois.
Edward Rump, Academic '14, was married not long ago to Miss Vallie Shadwell of
West Point, Iowa. Mr. Rump's home is in Ft. Madison. Best wishes to Mr. and
Mrs. Rump.
Bill Cahill is director of the famous Cahill's Orchestra of Iowa City.
Rev. Patrick McGuiness, College '17, is doing parish work in the city of Wyandotte,
Michigan.
We regret to note the death of one of last year's students, Walter Datin of Ft.
Madison. His death occurred last summer and caused genuine sorrow to his many
friends at St. Ambrose. May his soul rest in peace.
Dr. Simon Holtz is the leading veterinary of West Point, Iowa.
Three St. Ambrose Alumni are serving as assistant pastors in the churches of Clinton. Rev. George Volz is at St. Mary's, Rev. Francis Griffith is at St. Patrick's, and
Rev. Wm. Schmidt is at St. Iraneaus. In our opinion Clinton is extremely fortunate.
Last October Francis Nieters of Ft. Madison, a student here about 1918, was
married to Miss Ruth Eaton of the same place. The ceremony was performed by
Rev. Hubert M. Thoman, another Alumnus of this institution. Mr. Nieters is with
the Nieters Construction Company of Ft. Madison. Congratulations!
The Iowa State Teachers College basketball team had a very successful season under
the leadership of Capt. James Fottrol, who needs no introduction to St. Ambrose
students.
Dr. Joseph Condon, one of the leading practitioners of Des Moines, was a visitor
here during the Homecoming celebration. Dr. Condon was a member of the Collegiate
department in 1903.
Erwin Lampe, a member of the College department last year, holds the position of
Assistant City Clerk of Ft. Madison.
It is a noteworthy fact that of the twenty priests who are members of the St. Am-
