Description

MU DELTA ALPHA
Appropriately to celebrate our happy entrance into the
beautiful new Davis Hall, we, redoubtable Sophs, were
compelled to organize a third college society, purposefully
called Mu Delta Alpha. This organization has been
lightly termed "a club of necessity" but a happy necessity
it was, as subsequent events have tended to prove.
Heretofore, the kindly K. E. Club, embracing Juniors
and Seniors, had welcomed the members of the Sophomore
class into its membership. This year, however, the tradition was broken because of our large number; when we
proposed to enroll in the Senior society our elder brothers
demurred.
After considerable consultation with the K. E. officers
we too came to see the wisdom of such an attitude and to
have more confidence in our own somewhat latent powers. Certainly Sophomore interests were now sufficiently
important to warrant our establishing an independent
society.
The Mu Delta Alpha was quickly organized and forthwith began to exert its influence in many and various
ways.
Numbered among its members can be found a talented
journalist, the stars of many dramatic offerings, a cheer
leader, the captains of the three major sports for the current year, and many potential lawyers, doctors, literati,
and engineers.
With this high class membership the Mu Delta Alpha
has done much to promote good-fellowship among its
members and to keep alive spirited rivalry between the
fraternal organizations.
May the Mu Delta Alpha live and prosper!
