Description

Masters In Business Administration
The Masters in Business Administration (MBA) Program, a part of St. Ambrose College since 1977, has
produced 125 graduates since the 45-credit-hour program was accredited in 1979 by the North Central
Association.
MBA graduates are prepared to step into middle and
upper levels of management and immediately begin to
perform as professional managers.
The average age of MBA students is 30. Seventy-five
percent are men. Many hold significant occupational
positions with major employers in the Quad-City area.
Undergraduate degree majors range from business to
non-business (for example, History, English, Engineering and Biology).
Non-business graduates are not required to take
undergraduate preparatory business classes.
Students can complete the program in two and two-
thirds years (eight semesters) on a part-time, evening
only basis, or in one and two-thirds years (five semesters) on a full-time, evening only basis. The program
offers a Saturday Only Program that can be completed
in three and a half years (seven semesters).
The MBA student "hits the books hard" to maintain a
3.0 grade point average in all course work so as to stay in
good academic standing. Only two "C" grades are
allowed in the MBA Program, each of which must be
offset with an "A."
After hours of studying subjects from accounting to
marketing to resource management, the students join in
some special social activities.
Graduate receptions, student mixers, homecoming
and other activities, all planned by the Alumni Association, the MBA Senate, or the MBA Officer, allow the students and faculty to relax together.
Each year in the MBA Program offers each student
networking, friendships, and a chance to become a more
learned person.
The MBA Program helps students control their own
destinies and master a bastion of skill areas, such as
conference leadership, time management, public speaking and assertiveness training.
With these skills, the MBA course work, and the communications with other professionals, the MBA student
graduates as a socially aware executive, prepared to
master the state of the art and to become adept at adjusting to a changing business and social environment.
