MURAL SPORTS
With a final won-lost record of 19-5, the
Umbriagos took the bowling crown for the
second consecutive year. The second place
team, the Dirty Socks, ended its season with
a 16-8 record. Both teams were tied at 16-5
when the final day of bowling rolled around.
The Bowladrome was the scene of the playoff
match, and the Umbriagos retained their top
position by knocking off all three of the ten
frame scores.
Along with retaining the championship, the
Umbriagos recorded the highest three game
series since the start of the league. Helping
his teammates to this all-time high was Stan
(Toots) Gotfryd whose 549 for three games was
a new high in the individual's score book. The
record set by the Umbriagos was 2478. Ed
Frick claimed the high singles score with a 239.
