Description
PRE-LEGAL CLUB
OFFICERS
President Joe Lanzilotti
Vice-President Joe Morrissey
Secretary-Treasurer Jim Gorman
The St. Ambrose Pre-Legal Club could look
back upon its third year of existence with a
pleasant feeling that it had come a long way
since it was first recognized among other clubs
in 1947.
The membership had been increased beyond that of any other year. The club had participated in more social activities than before,
and had stamped the social calendar with several of its own functions. But in all its growth
it did not fail to live up to its personal commitments with its members.
The purpose of providing pre-legal students with knowledge of the processes and
problems of the profession was well fulfilled by
able officers. Offered to members were lectures by local men who have been successful
in the profession. A second means of providing
the member with the right answers and right
outlook was a discussion and forum program.
A third means of helping the student to understand better the law profession was the introduction of movies showing lawyers at work.
Among the professional clubs this was a novel
feature and was popularly received among the
members.
Socially the club was growing up. It
sponsored three events itself, a banquet,
smoker and sweater dance. In addition it cooperated with the other clubs in helping to
make last year's homecoming celebration one
of the best ever. And always the club was alert
to urge its members to support heartily the
efforts of the athletic teams and the projects
undertaken by the student council and religious
groups.
Not only in numbers did the club reach its
highest point, but in interest as well. The club
had every reason to hope that the best could be
made better.
Shannon, Kolchan, Arnold, Morrissey, Lanzilotti, Mr. Schmandt, Gorman, Maher, Beiser.
