Description
Tri-Beta
Forerunning today's local chapters of
the American Institute of Physics, American Chemical Society and the Tri-Beta
Club was the all-inclusive Science Club.
It gained prominence on the St. Ambrose
Campus in 1922 when it extended its
work up among the best societies of the
area. With increased interest and specialization in the fields of science, St.
Ambrose College has formed branches of
A.I.P., A.C.S., and Tri-Beta, of which the
first two are made up of students from
both St. Ambrose and Marycrest Colleges.
These societies carry on the work of the
original Science Club with technical lectures, field trips, and demonstrations.
In addition, they sponsor certain social
events each year.
Right: Larry Lucas, Herman (the Skeleton!) and
Walt Williams.
Right: Pat Donaldson,
John Davies, Phil Nonnenmann,
Fr. Rice, Pat
Rohret and Erich Eipert.
