Chicago Club
This year was one of the best and most active ever for
the Chicago Club. During the summer there was a beach
party, a "get-to-gether" at Sieben's Beer Garden, and
the annual beer-blast picnic just before school started.
For their contribution to the Homecoming decorations,
the Chicagoans really "put out" in constructing their
much admired "Lamp of Knowledge." In November,
the combined clubs of Ambrose and Marycrest put on
a musical Let Us Entertain You which played to a standing-room-only crowd at the Marycrest Auditorium. December proved to be an interesting and active month
for the members. The annual Christmas Party for the
children of Saint Vincent's Orphanage was thoroughly
enjoyed by all. This proved to be the first of many
functions that our club put on for the orphan children.
Over the Christmas vacation Ambrosians, Alumni, and
friends let loose and "twisted" and drank 'til 3 a. m. at
the annual Christmas Dance at the Sherman Hotel in
downtown Chicago. This particular dance was the biggest ever in both attendance and profit for the Chi Club.
