2005 Kjrsten Bobb wins teacher conservation award

Title

2005 Kjrsten Bobb wins teacher conservation award

Description

The Des Moines County Soil and Water Conservation District chose Notre Dame High School teacher Kjrsten Bobb as the local winner in Division 2 of the 2005 Iowa Soil Conservation Awards Program. The purpose of the award is to recognize public or parochial school teachers who are performing outstanding service in creating public awareness of the need to safeguard our heritage of natural and human resources. Division 2 consists of teachers in grades 7 through 12. The SWCD cose Kjrsten as their local winner because of her teaching philosophy. She feels student need to experience nature firsthand. Kjrsten said, "Firsthand experience with nature makes student learning unforgettable and this is the heart of the conservation education program. Students grow into citizens and decision makers that will continue and expand conservation practices in the future."
