1998 Wetlands Preserved on Wilma Groe's property

Title

1998 Wetlands Preserved on Wilma Groe's property

Description

The first two photos show a Ripsrian buffer along Flint Creek on Wilma Groe's WRP property in Pleasant Grove Township. The buffer was constructed with REAP funds. These wetlands, including the third photo, were also preserved with the help of the Wetlands Reserve Program (WRP). It is a voluntary program offering landowners the opportunity to protect, restore, and enhance wetlands on their property. The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) provided technical and financial support to help landowners with their wetland restoration efforts. The program started in 1992 and ran until 2014 when it was replaced with other programs.
