Description
Dinosaur fossil sculpture constructed from catalog cards.
My first thought when I saw the cards was that they were the color of bones. That, coupled with the thought of how the card catalog has become extinct in most libraries, gave me idea to create a fossil of some sort. Taking off from the definition of dinosaur as a relic, it all fell into place. As we are a medical school library, bones were fitting for our contribution.
We’ve created a display in the lobby of our library spotlighting Dr. Bones, giving some background about your project and offering some information on the history of card catalogs. I’m really pleased with how it all turned out.
