Title A name given to the resource Alexander Lippisch Description An account of the resource The Alexander Lippisch Collection contains photographs and drawings of his work in aeronautical engineering. Lippisch designed sailplanes and gliders, delta winged aircraft, and aerodynes, Alexander Lippisch was born in Germany and during World War II, he worked on designing high-speed fighter aircraft. After the war, he came to the United States and worked on designing jet-powered delta-wing aircraft . He later became interested in ground-effect craft. From 1950–1964, Lippisch worked for the Collins Radio Company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, which had an aeronautical division. In 1966, after recovering from cancer, he formed his own company, Lippisch Research Corporation.
