The first Baroque concert in the library is held in the upper rotunda lobby outside the Periodical Room, Dec. 7, 1973. Performers in formal dress play instruments including a bassoon, a cello, and a harpsichord.
A dark aisle through the middle of the old library storage building is lit by overhead light bulbs, illuminating the concrete floor and little-used volumes filling the tall metal shelves.
