Mac Umstattd of the University of Texas anchors the Sprint Medley Relay. Texas won with a time of 3:23.2, a new Drake Relays, American collegiate, and American record. Other team members were Morris Barefield, Billy Seay and Fred Ramsdell.

Ralph Tate competes in the Long Jump. Tate won the event with a distance of 24'7.25". He also won the 120-Yard High Hurdles that year with a time of :14.6 and was named the Outstanding Performer of the 1943 Drake Relays.
Baylor's victorious 440-Yard Relay team stand in the rain to receive their awards. Billy Martineson, Stonie Cotton, Jim McGillberry, and Jim Issacs won with a time of 41.9 seconds.
