Relays Director Bob Ehrhart is acknowledged during his last Drake Relays before retiring. Ehrhart served as Relays Director from 1969-2000 and was also the head coach of the men's track team from 1969-1992.
Joey Woody says hi to the crowd after winning the 400-Meter Hurdles. He won the event in both 2000 and 2002. Woody has captured nine Relays titles dating back to his days at Iowa City High School.

Janus Robberts of Southern Methodist set a new Drake Relays record in the Shot Put with a distance of 67-7 1/4. Robberts was a 3 time NCAA Champion in the Shot Put and was named Outstanding Performer for the Drake Relays in 2001.
