Willard Boyd in College of Law office, The University of Iowa, 1950s

Boyd was a professor and associate dean in the College of Law from 1954 to 1964, then a university administrator and eventually President of the University of Iowa from 1969 to 1981. He served as President of the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, returned to the university to serve as interim president, and then rejoined the College of Law faculty.
